Carrier idlers
Having a wide range of applications, our carrier idlers are commonly used to support the carrier belt of conveyors transporting such materials as ore, cement aggregate, papermaking pulp, sand and grain.
Trough angles for the carrier idler stands come standard at 20, 30 and 45 degrees. We also make carrier idler stands with customized trough angles with the same quality and short lead time as standard products. Trough angle standards for conveyor-transported items are as follows:
| Specific gravity | Degrees | Sample materials |
|---|---|---|
| High | 20 | Ironstone, crushed rock |
| Average | 30 | Coal, grain |
| Low | 45 | Wood chips, coke |

Self-aligning carriers and return idlers
These are constructed so that the roller stand rotates freely around a pivot on a fixed base. When the belt sways to one side, its edge pushes down on the guide roller and causes the roller stand to rotate. When this rotation causes the roller to assume a certain angle in relation to the movement of the belt, a movement force component is generated which compels the belt to realign itself around the centerline in the operation direction.
Because this mechanism operates automatically whenever the belt sways to the left or right, the Linetech self-aligning carrier and return idler ensures the belt is always running straight. This is particularly effective with long belt conveyors.

A-shaped pressing return idlers
Horizontal swaying is controlled on the return side by downward pressure on both belt edges. This is particularly useful for reversible belt conveyors that cannot use unidirectional self-aligning idlers.

PVC-lined rollers
Steel roller tubes are press-fitted into an outer
PVC pipe to increase the strength as well as
resistance to corrosive elements. Linetech recommends the
following seal types to improve dust-resistance and
waterproofing in tough environments:
• Non-contact low-resistance labyrinth seals
• Contact seals with advanced dust-resistance and
waterproofing functionality
• Double-layer seals combining the labyrinth seal
and the contact seal
Linetech also recommends the following specifications
to meet specific corrosion resistance needs in
roller stands:
• Linetech standard powder coating
• Heavy-duty corrosion-resistant tar epoxy resin
coating
• Hot-dip galvanization

The Linetech carrier support system
An auxiliary device for controlling and covering gaps between the belt and the skirt that blocks dust from flying off transported material, the Linetech Carrier Support System (CSS) is installed at the loading point of the belt conveyor. It ensures safety by preventing transported material and dust from being blown out through gaps between the belt and skirt.
The CSS is equipped with adjustable legs that allow it to replace the rollers at the loading point on a conveyor belt. It can also be custom-designed to fit existing layouts. The effect of the CSS makes a remarkable difference in the control of dust and dirt on conveyor systems.
